Administrative Assistant - Billing and Credentialing

Department:Patient Care Centers and Center Support Positions
FT/PT Status:Part Time

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

SUMMARY: The Administrative Assistant will work in the Center Support office to support back-office functions of all MedSpring locations throughout the country.  We work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.  This person should demonstrate high levels of professionalism, accountability, and teamwork, plus proven experience working with software applications to drive operational processes.

EDUCATION: High school diploma required


·          Scanning, filing, faxing documents and preparing items for mail-out

·          Working in the electronic medical record (EMR) system to research and resolve billing and payment discrepancies

·          Working with operations and accounting team members to reconcile payments

·          Supporting and / or driving various health care administrative and back office tasks and projects such as:

o   Mail processing

o   Client invoicing

o   Patient refund generation and processing

o   Assistance with claims management and billing functions

o   Assistance with data entry and maintaining clean data in our EMR and Credentialing software

o   Remote Deposits

·          Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:


  • Experience in an office environment preferred, but willing to train the right person
  • Intermediate knowledge of PCs, word processing, Excel and data entry
  • Excellent customer service and verbal/written communication skills required
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and organized to ensure quality work
  • Possess a clear, concise, professional communication style which is friendly and courteous
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Must be punctual and reliable


  • Ability to lift 15-30 lbs.
  • Required to move from one location to another within and outside of the building; push, pull and reach; bend; stand for long periods of time; and sit for long periods of time.

Standard business days and hours with the ability to work a flexible schedule.
