Job description

ACCESS Family Care is seeking a Play Therapist to provide predominantly office-based treatment for children and adolescents in Joplin, Missouri. This is a full-time salaried position with a competitive salary and a generous benefits package. A master’s level Missouri license to practice independently (LPC, LCSW) is required.

The provider in this position will perform the following duties:

  • Works regularly with interdisciplinary team of providers to collaboratively assist each child on their journey toward increased health and wellness.
  • Meets with children and parents/guardians to assess the need for outpatient treatment of emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and psychological conditions.
  • Complete diagnostic intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for children, consistent with evidence-based practices.
  • Provide mental health therapy and behavioral health services for children, designed to promote personal growth consistent with their individualized treatment plans.
  • Educate children and their parents/guardians regarding their diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and therapeutic process.
  • As needed, develop relationships and work collaboratively with local schools and social service agencies.
