Pay Range: $18.00-$25.00 per hour, based on previous medical billing experience

Access Family Care is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Neosho, Missouri. This full-time, in-office position is responsible for ensuring accurate claim submission, payment posting, insurance follow-up, and overall revenue cycle support. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medical billing processes, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting quality patient care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Submit and process insurance claims accurately and timely.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Review claims for accuracy and resolve billing errors.
• Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims.
• Post insurance and patient payments accurately.
• Maintain accurate patient billing records within the EHR system.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and reimbursement.
• Assist patients with billing questions and payment inquiries.
• Reconcile accounts and assist with accounts receivable management.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare billing regulations.
• Work collaboratively with clinic staff to resolve billing and documentation issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous medical billing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing processes.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Medical coding knowledge is a plus.
