Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY:  We are currently looking for a Senior Level Hardware Technician to support the National Gallery of Art. Candidate MUST be flexible and available when after-hours remote and/or offsite support for emergencies is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with end users to identify and deliver required Windows equipment and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware.
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
  • Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding PC and/or hardware problems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge base articles of hardware and equipment configurations, drivers, and imaging.
Required Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to work with components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Self-motivated and directed with a keen attention to detail.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong customer-service skills.

A+ certification preferred


Level of Security Clearance: Public Trust Secret [minimum]
