Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY:  We are  currently looking for a Senior Mac System Administrator to support the National Gallery of Art. Candidate MUST be flexible and available when after-hours remote and/or offsite support for emergencies is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize Jamf Pro for efficient management of Apple devices.
  • Integrate Mac systems seamlessly with Active Directory, ensuring smooth operations across platforms.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Mac hardware, macOS, iOS, and software applications to provide comprehensive support and troubleshooting.
  • Utilize strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to address technical issues promptly and effectively.
  • Use Terminal for advanced troubleshooting and system configurations.
  • Experience with scripting languages e.g., Bash for automation tasks.
  • Conduct system and network configurations through Terminal commands, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Apply knowledge of Unix-based systems to Mac and iOS environments for enhanced efficiency and functionality.
  • Manage and troubleshoot security protocols and permissions via Terminal, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
  • Oversee iOS device management, including configuration profiles, MDM solutions, and app deployment.
  • Provide expert-level support for iOS troubleshooting and issue resolution, staying updated on the latest developments in iOS and macOS platforms.

 

Required Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 4 years of work-related experience.
  • Experience utilizing and maintaining JAMF, and Active Directory.
  • Experience supporting MacOS across a range of versions.
  • Experience supporting common MacOS applications such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Experience working with Terminal and command lines.
  • Must be well versed in dealing with staff that are both technical and non-technical.

 

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • JAMF Pro 200 certification or above REQUIRED.
Level of Security Clearance: Public Trust Secret [minimum]
