Job Description/Essential Functions:

District 19 CSB is seeking a full-time Crisis Intervention Provider position located at the Crisis Assessment Centers (CAC) for D19 CSB. The CAC’s are located in Hopewell, VA and Petersburg, VA. The CAC is home to the South Central Virginia CIT diversion site for law enforcement officers within the D19 CSB catchment area. The site is staffed with crisis intervention providers, law enforcement officers, and certified peer specialists, who work together to provide immediate access to triage, assessment, and linkage to needed MH/SA/ID/DD services. The CAC provides crisis intervention services to individuals under ECO, voluntary police escorts, referred from community partners and agencies, as well as walk in’s and individuals who call in seeking crisis services. Essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to: crisis screening for civil commitment, brief crisis intervention and counseling, follow-up of hospital and jail/prison discharges, and outpatient therapy.


Requirements: (Experience, Essential Education, and Skills Needed):
Successful candidate must be an LMHP or LMHP type registered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions with major course of study in Human Services or approved field with at least one year experience serving children, adolescents, and adults with mental health/substance use/developmental disabilities, SMI, and co-occurring disorders. Knowledge of crisis intervention therapy and techniques; human personality, growth and development; mental health disabilities; evaluation of mental health disabilities; case management services; written, oral and interpersonal communications, inter-agency services coordination.



Preferred candidate will have basic computer skills, crisis intervention experience. Professional license preferred (i.e. LCSW, LPC, LMFT).

Salary:
Position is Grade 210-211 depending on licensure status: 
Starting salary for licensed eligible, grade 210 is $60,000.00
Starting salary for licensed, grade 211 is $65,000.00 
Salaries are negotiable. 

Hours: 
Flexible schedule: Rotating shifts, weekends, and holiday coverage.
