Job Description/Essential Functions:
The Peer Bridger Specialist is to provide support, mentoring, and duties to participants in the PSH program who are diagnosed with serious mental illness within the state psychiatric hospital setting and established PSH programs. This position provides support before and after discharge into PSH through engagement and services aligned with the Peer recovery Specialist scope of practice. This position serves an advocate and assist with maximizing the individual's choice and decision making in the recovery process. This member of the treatment team has experienced stable and sustained recovery. The position models competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills as well as functioning as a fully integrated team member to provide expertise about the recovery process, symptom management, and the persistence required by individuals to have a satisfying life. This position collaborates to promote a team culture that recognizes, understands, and respects each individual point of view, experiences,  and preferences. Acts as a liaison with community resources, carries out rehabilitation and support functions, assists in treatment, SUD services, education, support and consultation to families and crisis intervention under clinical supervision

Requirements: (Experience, Essential Education, and Skills Needed):

Successful applicant must have: a High School Diploma with at least 2 years of continuous sobriety. The successful candidate must also be actively engaged or connected in the recovery community, experience in writing recovery plans, excellent written and verbal skills.  Incumbent must also adhere to confidentiality policies and maintain professional boundaries and be able to work with various organizations and agencies. Knowledge of mental health /co-occurring behaviors and  familiarity with the tri-city recovery community is preferred.

Salary:
This is a Grade 203, starting salary is $33,455/annually. 
Salaries are negotiable. 

Hours:
Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm.

PSLF is a federal program available to full-time government and nonprofit employees who have Federal Direct Loans and have made 120 payments on the Federal Direct Loans (after Oct. 1, 2007) may be eligible for the remaining loan balance to be forgiven.
