District 19 Community Services Board is seeking an hourly registered nurse in our Petersburg area clinics to conduct nursing psychiatric assessments, assess physical health needs, make appropriate referrals to community physicians, providing management and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatrist and providing a range of treatment, lab services, and support services.Incumbent must have a strong commitment to persons with a severe and persistent mental illness to help them to live in normal community residences, work in market jobs, and have access to helpful, adequate, competent, and continuous support and services.Preferred candidate must also have the skills and competence to establish supportive, trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment are essential. Must have strong communication and documentation skills. Work is performed under the general direction of the Medical Services Manager.
Travel to satellite clinics required, with agency vehicle provided or mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle.
Must have basic computer skills. Must have a current State of Virginia license to practice as a Registered Nurse. RNC Preferred. Required to obtain and maintain CPR certification. Must possess a valid VA Driver’s License with an acceptable motor vehicle record.Must be able to regularly engage in light lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing stairs.
Position requires valid Driver’s License in state of residence with a point balance of -6 or higher, and an extensive pre-employment background check and drug screening.
