Job Description/Essential Functions:
District 19 Community Services Board Surry and Sussex Clinics, are offering a great opportunity for a part time recovery counselor for the Substance Use program. Essential job duties include ensuring that treatment and recovery support services are fully integrated as part of consumers care; conduct screenings, orientations, intake/assessments; co-facilitating groups; document service delivery and treatment of care; provide pre-treatment, motivational and supportive counseling, life skills training, telephonic aftercare; coordinate and link consumers to community resources, and collaborate with recovery community organizations. Incumbent will adhere to agency confidentiality policies and procedures, maintain professional boundaries, and be able to work with various organizations and agencies.

Requirements: (Experience, Essential Education, and Skills Needed):
Successful applicant must have either: a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services related field with at least five years of continuous sobriety, an Associate’s degree in Human Services related field with seven years of continuous sobriety, or a High School Diploma or equivalent with 10 years of continuous sobriety and a certificate in peer training or recovery. CSAC or CSAC-A required. The successful applicant must also be actively engaged or connected in the recovery community; have experience in writing recovery plans; have excellent verbal and written skills; be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, be able to work with a diverse population, be able to multi-task and perform work task in a harmonious and effective manner. Knowledge of mental health/co-occurring behaviors and experience in diagnosing substance use disorders and familiarity with the tri-city recovery community is preferred. Knowledge of electronic health records also preferred.

Rate:
The is a grade 203, starting rate is $18.39/hour. Salary Negotiable.
