Job Description/Essential Functions:

District 19 Community Services Board (D19CSB) is seeking a qualified professional to work as a ACT Clinician (Substance Abuse Specialist) at the BANK STREET office in Petersburg, Virginia. Duties and abilities include being able to articulate key concepts critical to Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment, such as focusing on harm reduction and the use of motivational interviewing. This position will provide group treatment based on the Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment model. The individual will demonstrate an understanding of stage wise assessment and treatment, skills and providing motivational interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This position will utilize a systematic assessment of all consumers’ current and historical use of substances, gather information pertinent to both the interplay of substance-abuse and mental health (e.g. negative and positive effects of substance use) and stage of change readiness. This position will help treat a variety of mental health symptoms/disorders by identifying a timeline of critical life events and stressors with substance use activity and stage of change readiness for each substance used. Performing assessments and determining need for ICT/ACT services, provide Intensive Community Treatment, crisis intervention including pre-screening for involuntary hospitalization, and medication delivery to severely and persistently mentally ill consumers who reside in the D19 catchment area.


Requirements: (Experience, Essential Education, and Skills Needed):
Successful applicant must have knowledge, skills and abilities related to stated position to include: Master's Degree in human services field, eligible for certification as a qualified pre-screener, have at least one year of experience working with dually diagnosed adult consumers in a mental health setting, and have computer experience and experience with electronic records.

Applicant must be able to work some evenings (until 6:00pm), weekends, holidays, and be on call every 4-6 weeks.

Applicant is preferred to be license eligible for either LCSW or LPC. Applicant is also preferred to have experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team that includes nurses, case managers, clinicians, and a psychiatrist.

Salary:
Position is a Grade 211 or 212, depending on licensure status.

LMHP-R- Grade 211        $53,322/annually
LMHP   - Grade 212        $56,522/annually

Salaries are negotiable. 

Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, some evenings until 6:00pm.
