Job Description/Essential Functions:

District 19 Community Services Board is seeking a qualified professional to assume the responsibilities of full-time SUD Therapist at the Hopewell/Prince George clinic. Essential duties for this position include providing individual and group therapy services to substance use and dually diagnosed adults in both community and clinic settings. Conduct SUD screenings, assessments and write individual service plans. Complete and submit PA's and collaborate with MCO's and Service Providers.


Requirements: (Experience, Essential Education, and Skills Needed):

Successful applicant must be Licensed (LPC, LCSW, LSATP, LCP, etc.) in the state of Virginia or Registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling.

If not currently registered, will be registered with the Board of Counseling within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge of CSB system; clinical motivation of clients; case management; etiology of substance use; related mental disorders; self -help groups; bio, psycho, and social aspects of substance use. Skills in group, oral and written communication; multi-cultural sensitivities; sound judgment. Two years of direct services in the area of SUD.



Preferred Qualifications / Other Relevant Job Information:

Preferred qualifications include extensive experience working with SUD and dually Diagnosed SUD/SMI Adults, experience providing individual and group therapy, strong knowledge of SUD and mental health issues and diagnosis, crisis intervention experience and clinical record documentation skills.

Position is a grade 211. $53,322.  Salary is Negotiable. 

Position requires pre-employment extensive background check and drug screening. Position requires driver's license in state of residence with a point balance of -6 or higher.

District 19 Community Service Board is a qualifying employer for public service loan forgiveness (PSLF). PSLF is a federal program available to full-time government and nonprofit employees who have Federal Direct Loans and have made 120 payments on the Federal Direct Loans (after Oct. 1, 2007) may be eligible for the remaining loan balance to be forgiven.
