Job Description/Essential Functions:

District 19 CSB Petersburg Clinic, located in Petersburg, VA has an exciting opportunity for full time employment providing treatment services to individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health/substance use disorders in both a clinic and community setting. 

District 19 CSB is a multi-jurisdictional agency that provides MH, SUD and Crisis services in 9 localities: including the cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Hopewell, Emporia and the counties of Dinwiddie, Prince George, Sussex, Greensville, and Surry.  The incumbent may be required to provide services throughout the various D19 Clinics. Staff person must work closely with criminal justice personnel, to include probation officers, deputies, nursing staff and other treatment providers. 

Essential duties of this position are to provide drug court and other clinical assessments, Substance Abuse screenings, individual and group counseling, linking and coordinating services back to D19 clinics.  In addition, the person must be able to administer and interpret clinical instruments and construct clinical summaries.


Requirements: (Experience, Essential Education, and Skills Needed):

Successful applicant must be Licensed or license eligible as a LPC, LCSW, LSATP, LCP, etc.
Master's degree in human services field or a Bachelor of Science with a CSAC/or substance abuse certification.


Knowledge of CSB system; clinical motivation of clients; case management; etiology of substance use; related mental disorders; self -help groups; bio, psycho, and social aspects of substance use. Skills in group, oral and written communication; multi-cultural sensitivities; sound judgment. 2 years of direct services in the area of SUD.

Preferred qualifications include extensive experience working with SUD and dually Diagnosed SUD/SMI Adults, experience providing individual and group therapy, strong knowledge of SUD and mental health issues and diagnosis, crisis intervention experience and clinical record documentation skills. 

*Any equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirements, unless completed level of education, licensure, and certifications are a legitimate business necessity.

Salary
Position is a Grade 210 or 211, starting salary is $50,304.00 depending on licensure status. Salary is negotiable 

*Agency may provide supervision towards licensure.
