Davidson is seeking a Quantum Computing Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Quantum Computing Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role requires an advanced understanding of mathematics, computer science, and engineering principles with a focus on developing quantum computing solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to our cutting-edge quantum computing projects, including simulation, algorithm development, and applications in missile defense.

High Level Role and Responsibilities: 

As a Quantum Computing Engineer, you will be part of a small team and play a pivotal role in advancing our capabilities in quantum computing technology. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Algorithm Design and Implementation: Design and implement advanced quantum computing algorithms using both traditional software languages and specialized quantum programming languages such as Qiskit and Q#.
  2. Software Development and Optimization: Develop and optimize robust software solutions in Python and C++ tailored for quantum simulation and other sophisticated computing tasks integral to our operations.
  3. Machine Learning Integration: Utilize machine learning techniques to augment the efficiency and capabilities of our quantum computing applications, ensuring they meet the complex demands of real-world scenarios.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to effectively integrate quantum computing technologies into missile defense systems, ensuring seamless operation and maximum efficacy.
  5. Research and Innovation: Conduct rigorous research and develop innovative solutions utilizing techniques and methods appropriate for quantum technologies. Your efforts will directly contribute to the company’s intellectual property and technological advancement.
  6. Industry Awareness: Maintain a thorough understanding of the latest developments in the field of quantum computing. Stay informed about emerging trends and advancements that can potentially enhance our technological solutions and strategic objectives.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Related Field
  • Python software development
  • Strong foundation in computer science
  • Basic Understanding of Quantum Gate Computing
  • In Depth understanding of Linear Algebra and Probability


Desired Competencies/Experience/Certifications:

  • Familiarity with Quantum Computing & Simulators
  • Proficiency with a quantum programming language (Qiskit, Q#, etc)
  • Machine Learning experience and applications
  • Experience with C++ software development
  • Knowledge of Missile Defense applications
  • Background in Signal Processing methods and applications

Clearance Requirements:
Currently Holds or is able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
