Summary/Position Overview:

The Strategic Brand Specialist is responsible for developing creative, engaging content that supports the execution of internal and external brand communication strategies. This role plays a critical part in shaping employees experience, enhancing public perception, and amplifying the utility’s voice across digital platforms. Working closely within the team, the specialist translates messaging goals into compelling stories, social media content, visuals, and videos that build employee pride and strengthen the company’s reputation. The ideal candidate will also provide support to the external strategic brand specialist as needed.


Duties and Tasks:

DUTIES AND TASK:

Maintain health, safety and environmental standards by:   

  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures,
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental and health standards, and
  • Complete all the required HSE training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Brand Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement strategic brand initiatives to strengthen the company's brand, mission, vision, and values in alignment with our corporate brand.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure brand consistency across all communication channels.
  • Oversee the production of branded materials, ensuring high quality and alignment with brand standards.
  • Conduct engagement strategies to analyze how to inform, roll out, and improve GBPC brand.

Graphic Design and Visual Content:

  • Create visual graphics for various communication platforms, including digital and print media aligned with our brand.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create visually appealing presentations, reports and materials.
  • Design marketing materials such as GBPC brochures, flyers, advertisements, and social media graphics.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a high standard of quality.
  • Manage the company’s visual asset library and ensure its accessibility and proper usage.

Public Relations:

  • Assist with developing and executing PR campaigns to enhance the company’s reputation and promote
  • key initiatives.
  • Gather and translate field data into desired outcome.
  • Contribute to project cost estimates and schedule.
  • Maintain record keeping and documentation metrics for drawings and related data
  • Contribute to team success by accomplishing related results/ tasks as needed.

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and implement GBPC social media strategies to increase brand awareness, reputation and engagement.
  • Create engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and manage online community interactions.

Content Creation and Management:

  • Develop compelling content for various communication channels, including websites, newsletters, and communications.
  • Ensure all content aligns with the company's messaging and brand voice.
  • Manage content calendars and coordinate with teams to ensure timely delivery of content.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze the effectiveness of communication campaigns and social media activities.
  • Provide regular reports on key metrics and making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to stay informed and identify opportunities.

Support External Strategic Brand Specialist:

  • Collaborate with the external Strategic Brand Specialist on various branding and communication projects.
  • Provide insights and support for external branding initiatives and campaigns.
  • Ensure alignment between internal and external branding efforts.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies. Contribute to team effort by completing other duties as assigned.



Academic/Skill/Experience Requirements:

The Brand and Strategic Specialist will have earned a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related discipline; or have an acceptable combination of education and experience. An experienced professional with a minimum of three years of experience in communication, public relations, or media relations role and vast knowledge or experience in the utility industry.

The Brand and Strategic Specialist will have copy writing and presentation skills, with experience in reviewing, editing, fact-checking and proofreading materials. They will also have proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of Adobe Suite and of the general rules and regulations for utility service. Ability to develop, implement, execute and measure strategic communications plans and must be detail oriented with good organizational skills, highly motivated and self- directed with ability to advance multiple concurrent projects. They will have the ability to work collaboratively with teams.
