Strategic Brand Specialist – External

Summary/Position Overview:

The Brand and Strategic Specialist(External) will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive external communication strategies to enhance GBPCs brand's and drive positive engagement with external stakeholders. This role focuses on graphic and branding, public relations (PR), social media, and strategic brand management to engage with stakeholders, customers, and the community. The ideal candidate will also support the internal strategic brand specialist as needed to ensure cohesiveness.

 


Duties and Tasks:

Maintain health, safety and environment standards by:

  • Ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

  • Ensuring compliance with all environmental and health standards, and

  • Completing all required HSE training.

 

Brand Strategy Development:

  • Developing and implementing external brand strategies to strengthen GBPC’s market position and reputation.

  • Ensuring consistency and alignment of GBP’s brand across all external communication channels.

  • Collaborating with external partners and agencies to produce high-quality branded materials

  • Conducting market research to identify external branding opportunities and trends.

  • Developing and executing marketing campaigns to promote GBPC's brand and initiatives to external stakeholders.

  • Coordinating with external agencies and vendors to ensure cohesive branding efforts and successful campaign execution.

 

Graphic Design and Visual Content:

  • Creating visual graphics for various communication platforms, including digital and print media aligned with our brand.

  • Collaborating with internal teams to create visually appealing presentations, reports and materials

  • Design marketing materials such as GBPC brochures, flyers, advertisements, and social media graphics.

  • Ensuring all designs adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a high standard of quality.

  • Managing the company’s visual assets library and ensuring its accessibility and proper usage.

 

Public Relations:

  • Creating and executing PR campaigns to enhance GBPC's public image and manage media relations.

  • Writing and distributing press releases, media kits, and other PR materials to external audiences.

  • Monitoring media coverage, analyzing results, and provide strategic insights to senior management

 

Social Media Management:

  • Developing and implementing social media strategies to increase GBPC's visibility and engagement with external audiences.

  • Managing external social media accounts, including content creation, posting schedules, and audience interaction.

  • Tracking and analyzing social media metrics, making data-driven adjustments to improve reach and engagement.

 

Stakeholder and Community Engagement:

  • Building and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including customers, partners, media, and community leaders.

  • Planning and executing external events and initiatives that promote positive engagement with the community.

  • Representing GBPC at industry events, conferences, and community activities, enhancing the company’s presence and reputation

 

Content Creation and Management:

  • Developing compelling content for various communication channels, including website, newsletters, and communications.

  • Ensuring all content aligns with the company's messaging and brand voice.

  • Managing content calendars and coordinate with teams to ensure timely delivery of content.

 

Support Internal Strategic Brand Specialist:

  • Collaborating with the internal Brand and Strategic Specialist to ensure alignment between internal and external branding efforts.

  • Providing strategic insights and support for internal branding initiatives.

  • Sharing external branding trends and best practices with the internal team.

 

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies. Contribute to team effort by completing other duties as assigned.


Academic/Skill/Experience Requirements:

The Brand and Strategic Specialist will have earned a Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in marketing, communications, Public Relations or related discipline; or have an acceptable combination of education and experience. An experienced professional with a minimum of three years of experience at in a communication, public relations, or media relations role and vast knowledge or experience in the utility industry. Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).

 

 

The Brand and Strategic Specialist will have proven experience in external brand management, PR, social media, and graphic designand presentation skills, with experience in reviewing, editing, fact-checking and proofreading materials. They will also have proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of the Adobe Suite. They will have strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple external projects simultaneously. Ability to develop, implement, execute, and measure strategic communications plans and must be detail oriented with good organizational skills, highly motivated and self- directed with ability to advance multiple concurrent projects. They will have the ability to work collaboratively with teams.
