POSITION SUMMARY

Reports to the Lead Security Guard Supervisor. The Part-Time Security Guard is a vital member of the healthcare team at Maniilaq Health Center Village Clinic. The role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors by vigilantly enforcing Maniilaq Association and Village Clinic security policies. Weapons are strictly prohibited on the premises. Guards are expected to remain on clinic property during their shift, only leaving for specific, job-related functions such as performing tasks required by Maniilaq Association or transporting patients in line with company policies.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.       Conducts physical security operations synchronized via communication and collaboration.

2.       Supports clinical staff in patient interactions.

3.       Follows Maniilaq policy when transporting patients.

4.       Manages facility access and door lockdowns.

5.       Investigates and documents security issues.

6.       Responds to emergency codes, trains staff, and keeps a security log.

7.       Acts as a member of the fire control team.

8.       Aids in the morgue process.

9.       Transports patients by air or land as needed.

10.   Complies with all security program policies and procedures.

11.   Checks visitors in and out as needed.

Job Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent. Must pass a background check and drug screening. Good interpersonal skills; capable of managing risky situations. Must obtain Alaska driver’s license within 3 months and be insurable to drive Maniilaq vehicles. Within the first year, must obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certificates as well as Unarmed Security Guard License, and complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training.
