POSITION SUMMARY

 

Primary duty will consist of driving in community transporting elders, delivering meals, and picking up and delivering mail, equipment and supplies. Attend all required mandatory training classes and staff meetings. This position reports to the Elder Services Program Coordinator or Designee.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.       Demonstrates a positive, caring, and respectful attitude toward residents at all times.

2.       Delivers meals to elders that are home bound Monday through Friday except on Maniilaq holidays.

3.       Transports residents and community elders to their destination in a safe manner.

4.       Maintains vehicle cleanliness inside and out.

5.       Follows Infection Control techniques.

6.       Must be able to work with little or no supervision at all times.

7.       Assists with grant reporting and provides data for reports.

8.       Assists and participates with Emergency Preparedness/Fire Drills.

9.       Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Must possess a valid Alaska driver’s license with a driving record that qualifies you for Maniilaq’s vehicle insurance.  Must obtain CPR and First Aid card within 6 months of hire and must keep current. Knowledge of Inupiaq culture and language preferred.
