POSITION SUMMARY
Performs a variety of Diagnostic Imaging procedures for the diagnosis of illness or injury. Imaging modalities may include Diagnostic Radiography, Ultrasonography, Mammography, Computed Tomography, and any combination of these.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. By order of a medical provider, performs a variety of Diagnostic Imaging procedures for the diagnosis of illness or injury.
2. When a radiologist is present, assists in, and/or performs fluoroscopic procedures as directed.
3. Shares equally in on-call time.
4. Participates in scheduling patients for examination.
5. Participates in maintaining patient logs, department statistics, film files, and purging of old files.
6. Participates in QA/QI activities, and ensures compliance with Joint Commission standards.
7. Helps track and maintain adequate levels of necessary supplies, i.e. films, chemicals, etc.
8. May act as lead in the department in the absence of that person.
9. Understands the developmental needs of all patients throughout the continuum of life, is able to adjust care to those needs. Documentation reflects this understanding.
10. Responsible for maintaining MQSA standards if performing mammography.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Radiographer I: High school diploma or equivalent and be ARRT registered, eligible for registry or have equivalent experience.
Radiographer II: Be ARRT registered, have 4 year’s experience in Diagnostic Radiography, or hold certification in Mammography, Ultrasound, or Computed Tomography.
Radiographer III: Be ARRT registered, have 4 years of experience in Diagnostic Imaging, and hold one or more certifications in Mammography, Ultrasound, or Computed Tomography.
