POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for providing direct audiological services that include identifying, assessing, and treating hearing problems and balance disorders. Performs routine and specialized audiology diagnostic procedures and test, reviews all results for quality assurance issues.  Reports directly to the Medical Director. 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.       Creates, develops and nurtures culturally appropriate interactions and connections with each other, patients and the community.

2.       Performs basis audiological tests necessary for evaluating the degree and nature of hearing disorders.

3.       Performs special needs services such as developmental screening clinics.

4.       Performs comprehensive hearing aid evaluations and assistive listening device evaluations.

5.       Supports the audiological needs in village clinics; requires travel to village clinics.

6.       Consults and coordinates with health care providers working in other departments and Anchorage based specialty services.

7.       Obtains information accurately and completely in order to determine a diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan.

8.       Works in coordination with management to improve services and develop and implement quality assurance programs.

Job Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1.       Licensed as an Audiologist in the State of Alaska

2.       Certified in Clinical Competency in Audiology or Equivalent
