Title: IT Technician I/II/III/Network Administrator                                                            Range: 13/14/15/16

POSITION SUMMARY

Technical assistance for the IT Division.  Provides support for computer network and telephone system Maniilaq Wide.  Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair computer and related hardware and software.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.       Assist the CIO and/or Network Specialist in maintaining the existing software, which operates under the NT Server, Finance Server.

2.       Responds to telecommunication work requests as directed by the IT Director.

3.       Receives and responds to computer system work requests. Tracks as required.

4.       Repairs computer hardware and sends out as required.

5.       Installs and maintains computer workstations.

6.       Provide client training support on all Maniilaq computer systems.

7.       Assists with nightly back-up routines.    

8.       Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair computer and related hardware and software.

9.       Assist the IT Director in evaluating computer hardware and software for specific uses.

10.    Research, order and track program purchases with IT Team.

Job Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

IT Technician I:

High school diploma or equivalent.  One year computer experience may substitute for the high school diploma or equivalent. One year computer experience or completion of computer technology course.  Ability to operate computer database and dispatch equipment. Able to travel with equipment to villages in small planes.

IT Technician II:

All requirements of IT Technician I, plus an additional year of computer systems experience.  Experience in training others on the use of computers.  At least one year experience with networks.  A+ Certifications preferred.

IT Technician III:

All requirements of IT Technician I and II, plus an additional year of computer systems experience.  Experience in training others on the use of computers.   Familiar with network systems A+ or, N+.

Network Administrator:

All requirements of IT Technician I, II, III, plus an additional year of computer systems experience.  Certifications in Network +, A+ certification, CCNA Routing and Switching.   Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
