POSITION SUMMARY
Provides basic patient care including, but not limited to: age specific assistance with ADL’s, taking vital signs and recording appropriately, assists providers and nurses with procedures, works on patient scheduling, patient appointment letters, patient travel, and speaking to patients on the phone. Must be able to support the association and hospital mission, goals and objectives. Reports directly to the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer/Outpatient Services Manager.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Specialty Clinic Technician I:
Basic life support or must obtain within 6 months of hire. Must successfully complete a medical terminology course within one year of hire. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and spend long periods standing and walking. Maybe exposed to communicable diseases and hazardous materials. Must be able to pass the core competencies assigned to the unit annually.
Specialty Clinic Technician II:
Meet the requirements of Specialty Technician I, plus must maintain some formal health=training beyond ETT i.e. Certified nursing assistant certification from any state, Medical technician (EMT II), or CHAP. Olympus scope training within 6 months of hire. One year of health care experience preferred.
