POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for daily operation of HCB Medicaid Waiver Services; Respite Providers, and In-Home Support Specialists. Assures all HCB Medicaid Waiver Services are accurately documented and all data collection are validated for the billing process. Secures all documentation and date collection for audit purposes. Responsible for administration of the Community Initiative Matching Grant (CIMG) program. This position reports directly to Senior & Disability Services Director.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

 

1.          Performs a variety of administrative tasks and clerical duties such as filing, correspondence, answering phones, sending quarterly reports, and making copies for social services management team.

2.               Responsible for the hiring, firing and disciplinary actions for all HCB Medicaid Waiver Services, Respite Providers, and In-Home Support Specialists.

3.               Ensures the continuation of training for all HCB Medicaid Waiver Services, Respite Providers, and In-Home Support Specialists.

4.               Distributes SDS supplies, information and surveys using postal or freight system.

5.               Provides administrative coverage as needed during vacancies.

6.               Responsible for the billing process for all HCB Medicaid Waiver Services provided under SDS.

7.               Tracks revenue, checks claims for errors, corrects errors and resubmits claims. Reports monthly billing to Director of SDS.

8.               Maintains confidentiality of all client, staff, and division related information as per Federal, State, HIPAA, Maniilaq, SDS policy and procedures.

9.               Maintain and secure all documentation and data collection for all HCB Medicaid Waiver Services.

10.            Investigates any probable discrepancies and works with appropriate people to ensure accurate billing. Ensures all billing sheets have required supporting documents.

11.            Responsible for the tracking and reporting of all HCB Medicaid Waiver billing payments, pending and denial of service claims.

12.            Works with third party Medicaid biller to ensure all rendered service claims are uploaded into SharePoint biweekly.

13.            Responsible for the ordering and distribution of food/clothing for Maniilaq’s Hardship Mitigation Project (HMP) funded through the State of CIMG program.

14.            Responsible for the reporting requirements for both State and Maniilaq Board of Directors concerning the HMP.

15.            Performs other duties as assigned to ensure that the work in the program is completed in a timely manner.


Job Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

HCB Waiver Program Coordinator I

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must complete Medicaid Waiver Billing training, CPR/First Aid certification or obtain within 60 days. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows, and internet skills required. Must possess strong communication and organizational skills. Must be self-motivated, dependable, and have the ability to work with minimum supervision, Alaska Driver’s license with good enough record to be insured and drive Maniilaq vehicles.

 

HCB Waiver Program Coordinator II

Requirements of Coordinator I: Certificate in Disability Studies or related field and 1 year of work experience in the field of Developmental Disability Services or two (2) years work experience as a HCB Waiver Program Coordinator. An Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field may be substituted for Certificate in Disability Studies or related field and 1 year of work experience in the field of Developmental Disability Services.

 

HCB Waiver Program Coordinator III

Requirements of Coordinator I/II: Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field and minimum of 2 years’ work experience in the field of Developmental Disability Services or 5 years’ experience as a HCB Waiver Program Coordinator. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field may be substituted for an Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field and 2 years’ work experience in the field of Developmental Disability Services.
