POSITION SUMMARY

To recruit and manage the Maniilaq Association health care professional recruitment program. Positions to be recruited include: physicians, mid-levels, dentists, nurses, itinerant therapists, pharmacists, and all other positions within Maniilaq Association.  Reports directly to the Human Resources Director.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develops and maintains a recruitment program that utilizes current marketing trends and techniques and meets professional staffing standards and requirements.

2.  Assesses staffing requirements, coordinates activities, and information regarding recruitment, placement, and relocation of health care professionals with appropriate personnel staff and selecting officials.

3. Develops, conducts and analyzes various surveys and studies concerning health care personnel turnover and utilize findings to recommend improvements to retain staff and submit reports.

4. Conducts personal and telephone interviews with prospective applicants. Responds to letters of inquiry; prepares and disseminates health care program and employment information.

5.  Attends necessary training and meetings to acquire information about current health marketing trends.

6. Collaborates with managers/supervisors to communicate delays in the recruiting process and takes whatever actions are necessary to minimize the time it takes to fill a position.

7.  Initiates change, which makes the overall recruitment program responsive to the needs of management.

8. Develop and maintain database of applicants, database of recruitment activities and a database of advertising agencies and tracking of all advertisements.

9.  Attends recruiting conferences/conventions.

10. Maintains close communications with the HR Specialists, hiring managers and other sources, such as the ANTHC     Recruiters.

11.  Remains current on knowledge of benefits and recruitment packages.

12.  Conducts periodic salary and benefit comparisons as requested.

13.  Provides technical assistance for the online application system to in-house users and customers.

14.  Completes necessary reports, paperwork and correspondence in order to maintain compliance with IHS, NHSC      and Alaska State Loan Repayment Programs.

15.  Participates in the on-call rotation with the other Specialists in the Human Resources Division.

16.  Coordinates and manages the Employee Appreciation Committee program.

17.  When necessary, will perform HR Specialist work and cover an area of the Association as needed.

Job Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent.  Three to five year’s professional recruiting experience in the health care field.  Substitution:  Two to four years experience working in a Human Resource office as a specialist or generalist that was responsible for hiring employees or a Bachelor’s Degree with one year related experience.  Skill in compiling statistics and developing reports.  Direct knowledge of Native health care delivery systems preferred.  Must be able to travel and carry recruitment equipment that may weigh over 40 pounds.  Valid Alaska drivers license with a good enough driving record to be covered by Maniilaq’s insurance.
