POSITION SUMMARY

Provides supervision and personnel management of Clinic Supervisors/Managers who oversee rural village health clinic operations. They manage a pool of itinerant traveling staff and works with Medical Staff to ensure village clinic coverage. This is a leadership position providing work direction, motivation, instruction, performance evaluation, corrective action, and supervision to field staff. This position facilitates and promotes teamwork and reports directly to CHAP Manager.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1)       Provides remote oversight and supervision of all Clinic Supervisors/Managers, itinerant pools, and field staff.

2)       Perform leadership functions by providing work direction, motivation, training, performance evaluation, competency folders, and corrective actions with field staff. 

3)       Oversees a comprehensive village clinic staffing schedule, reviewing/approving leave, and ensuring continuity of village clinic health services and emergency on-call coverage.

4)       Participates with Clinic Supervisors/Managers and Human Resources to select and hire village clinic based CHAP staff.

5)       Ensures CHAP policies are followed and establishes an effective management structure to support employees, monitor performance, make necessary corrective action, facilitate communication across field staff (i.e. routine meetings).

6)       Appoints Acting Clinic Supervisors or Clinic Managers when those village clinic positions are vacant, and at times, may directly fill these role.

7)       Monitors the completion of employee health requirements, new employee orientation, health stream, probationary evaluations and annual performance reviews for village based CHAP staff.

8)       Ensures each clinic completes and submits the following reports: Hand Hygiene Reports, Patient Satisfaction Survey’s, SQSS, Monthly Reports, Workman’s Compensation Claims.

9)       Support CHA/Ps with the delivery of health care services in conjunction with Medical Staff, Public Health Nursing, Specialty Clinics, and other health services programs.

10)   Participates in CHAP service team plan including planning, monitoring, data collection, and evaluation.

11)   Quarterly travel to assigned village clinics for personnel management, Joint Commission inspections, and when other opportunities arise.

12)   Sits on multi-disciplinary and collaborative health service teams on behalf of health clinics.

13)   Maintains the CHAP Administration on-call phone for after-hours issues and/or delegates those responsibilities.

14)   Work in cooperation with the CHAP Manager, Medical Director, Coordinator/Instructors, and referral physician to address CHA/P medical and training issues.

15)   Participates in MHC Morning Rounds and care coordination.

16)   Performs other duties as assigned by the CHAP Manager. 

Job Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High School graduate or equivalent. Must have five years’ experience with healthcare management and supervision. Experience with CHAP and higher levels of education are preferred. Knowledge of Inupiaq culture, language, and customs preferred. Have a positive outlook, be well organized and able to interact with diverse group of costumers/suppliers. Dependable, open, honest, willing to take that extra minute to give feedback in a warm and caring way.
