POSITION SUMMARY

Under the management of the Director of Behavioral Health, the Licensed Clinical Psychologist provides psychological assessments, psychotherapy, integrated care consultations, and clinical supervision. This position supports program development, quality assurance initiatives, and operational planning within the Behavioral Health division. The psychologist ensures compliance with documentation standards, contributes to training efforts, and participates in multidisciplinary discussions. This role requires strong collaboration with staff, administrative oversight, and direct patient care.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provides individual psychotherapy and participates in diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and follow-up care for patients.

  2. Consults with teams and community stakeholders to enhance the delivery of mental health services.

  3. Delivers case management services for chronically mentally ill individuals residing independently or in community settings.

  4. Conducts evaluations to assess cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning for individuals with psychological, neuropsychological, or developmental disorders (e.g., TBI, dementia, autism).

  5. Prepares comprehensive reports with diagnostic clarifications and treatment recommendations.

  6. Keeps up-to-date with advancements in psychological testing and implements evidence-based practices.

  7. Provides clinical supervision for licensed, pre-licensed professionals, and Behavioral Health Aides (BHAs) as directed by the Director of Behavioral Health.

  8. Participates in and leads training programs, meetings, and operational discussions on care delivery.

  9. Assists in the development and evaluation of new and existing behavioral health programs.

  10. Ensures compliance with internal and external standards, including Title 47 commitment statutes and related regulations.

  11. Supports quality improvement initiatives and organizational projects.

  12. Collaborates with the Behavioral Health team to monitor program outcomes and annual revenue targets.

  13. Maintains accurate documentation and reporting using electronic medical records.

  14. Engages in strategic planning and other non-clinical activities to support the division's mission.

  15. Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must have a PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institute. Unrestricted Alaska License, or eligibility for temporary licensure in Alaska to accrue hours towards independent license. Comprehensive understanding of psychological principles for treatment and rehabilitation. Expertise in psychological testing devices, interpretation, and evidence-based clinical practices. Familiarity with record keeping standards, report writing techniques, and compliance regulations.
