POSITION SUMMARY
Works under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Services Program Director to provide seamless behavioral health services to consumers. Provides supervision to Substance Treatment Supervisor, Behavioral Health Therapist, Lead Itinerant Therapist and Itinerant Therapists. Works with the Quality Assurance Supervisor to ensure compliance with all Alaska and Federal regulations, CARF, Medicaid/Medicare, and grant requirements. Requires the ability to function independently while communicating and coordinating activities with staff. Serves as the designee for the Program Director as needed.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
Provides direct supervision to Substance Treatment Supervisor, Behavioral Health Therapist, Lead Itinerant Therapist, and Itinerant Therapists.
Works in collaboration with Quality Assurance Supervisor, as well as the Substance Abuse Treatment Supervisor, and Lead Therapist.
Establishes and maintains respectful working relationships with staff, public, families, agencies, and community resources locally and throughout Alaska.
Coordinates with Quality Assurance Supervisor to ensure that staff meet orientation, educational, clinical and Maniilaq training requirements.
Clinically supervises integrated program services and staff to ensure the level of care meets the needs of the client and complies with regulations.
Regularly reviews client case files to assure completeness, professionalism, and confidentiality of all records, materials, and communications.
Responsible for coordinating with Quality Assurance Supervisor to plan and attend all staff meetings weekly.
Oversees program development and monitoring, policy and procedures, evaluation, performance improvement indicators, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure quality and continuity of care for all consumers.
Ensures treatment modalities and interventions are clear, consistent, appropriate, and culturally orientated and clinical records are timely, accurate, and completed in a professional manner.
Assists and participates in legal procedures associated with Behavioral Health issues as appropriate.
Participates in staffing’s, in-service training, and professional development activities.
Responsible to assist with locating and developing grants and revenue enhancement opportunities.
Responsible to assist in program compliance with CARF standards, state and federal licensure or regulations, Medicaid/Medicare standards, HIPAA regulations, and 42 CFR Part II.
Prepares monthly, quarterly, yearly and other program reports as requested by the Director.
Acts as a contact person for inquiries from the public and other agencies for integrated services.
Coordinates with Quality Assurance Supervisor in the chart review, assessments, assessment review, treatment planning, and treatment plan review process.
Assists in development and monitoring of some components of program budgets as assigned.
Provides supervision for all crisis intervention services 24/7 and participates in providing on-call services at least quarterly and as needed.
Provides limited individual, family, and/or group treatment, including substance abuse treatment and adequately documents such treatment processes and progress in our EHR.
Travels to villages as necessary to provide needed supervision of BHA and/or to provide any necessary treatment as it pertains to a specific village.
Works as part of a team to provide optimal mental health services which may include making referrals to other Maniilaq and non-Maniilaq programs in or out of our region.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A Master’s degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy (or the like). Master’s degrees must meet Alaska State licensure requirements at the time of hire. If the candidate does not have a license eligible Master’s degree but has obtained a Doctoral degree that is eligible for an Alaska State Licensure, the Doctoral degree will be accepted as equivalent. Must be able to obtain an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LAP within 6 months of hire. Broad clinical experience preferred. Ability to work with sensitivity in a cross-cultural environment. Ability to adjust to “bush” conditions in Arctic Alaska. Must be willing and able to travel in small planes and stay overnight in alternative locations. Must have a Substance use treatment certification. Must have five years of clinical experience and at least one year of clinical supervisory experience. Must possess strong technical, administrative, organizational, financial, and communication skills. Must have working knowledge of behavioral health services and clinical theories. Must have a valid Alaska State driver’s license that meets the requirements needed in order to be covered by Maniilaq Association’s insurance.
