POSTION SUMMARY

The Clinical Applications Coordinator supports the implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of the electronic health record (EHR), specifically Oracle Health (Cerner). This role serves as a key liaison between clinical staff and IT, ensuring the EHR supports efficient, safe, and effective patient care.

Responsibilities include system configuration, workflow optimization, troubleshooting, and end-user training. This position works closely with clinical departments to implement new functionality and improve existing processes. Participation in an on-call rotation is required. This position reports to the Director of Clinical Informatics.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support and maintain the Oracle Health (Cerner) EHR system
  2. Configure applications, workflows, and system settings to meet clinical needs
  3. Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with IT and vendors
  4. Develop and deliver EHR training for clinical and support staff
  5. Assist with implementation of new software, upgrades, and enhancements
  6. Serve as a liaison between clinical teams, IT, and external partners
  7. Monitor system performance and recommend process improvements
  8. Promote data accuracy, integrity, and security across clinical systems
  9. Participate in interdisciplinary teams as an EHR subject matter expert
  10. Document issues, solutions, and workflows; escalate complex issues as needed
  11. Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS

CAC I:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Healthcare certification (e.g., CNA, CMA, LPN) preferred
  • 2+ years of healthcare or IT-related experience
  • Basic knowledge of clinical systems and ability to train users

CAC II:

  • Associate degree in healthcare, IT, or related field
  • 2+ years of healthcare IT or clinical experience
  • Experience supporting or working with EHR systems preferred

CAC III:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, IT, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of clinical applications support or 4+ years of clinical experience
  • Strong communication, training, and project coordination skills
  • Experience with EHR implementation, support, or optimization
