POSITION SUMMARY

This role will support the facility towards process improvements that will support the reduction of medical/health care errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. Assists in gathering data and reporting of clinical measures to the hospital and outside sources.  This position reports to the Quality & Accreditation Director or designee.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversees the clinical performance improvement plan.

  2. Will maintain and support submission of quality data, such as eCQMs, under the direction of the Quality Director.

  3. Participates by representing Quality in those committees/meetings deemed appropriate by the Quality Director.

  4. Participates in patient quality initiatives to maintain and improve care to patients; ensuring collection and submission of quality data to and from various programs and regulatory agencies.

  5. Gathers data for GPRA, UDS, Joint Commission and other clinical measures as needed.

  6. Analyze data from Cerner and create performance improvement plans based on the analysis.

  7. Assists programs and village clinics with the development and implementation of the Quality Assurance, Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement calendars (SQSS).

  8. Maintains Health Stream, SQSS and Policy Tech programs in tandem with Quality Staff. 

  9. Maintains adherence to hospital and program policies and procedures regarding confidentiality.

  10. Help prepare the facility for Joint Commission Accreditation and other visits, such as HRSA, with Quality Department

  11. Demonstrates knowledge of the hospital’s mission and values.

Job Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma, Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university. 

  • Must hold a current registered nurse license in the State of Alaska. 

  • Two (2) years’ of demonstrated experience in a health care facility using performance improvement methodologies.

  • Ability to interpret and process data in an analytical manner.

  • Ability to work autonomously with little direction.

  • Ability to design and present instructional materials for varied audiences, including a strong command of English, both written and verbal in order to write reports, training materials and communicate with staff, agency representatives and the public.

  • Ability to utilize various computer programs including Cerner and Microsoft Office programs.

  • Must have successful experience interacting with a diverse employee population.

  • Must exercise the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

  • Must have strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational and time management skills.

  • Must be able to travel to village clinics.
