The junior credentialing specialist works with the senior specialist
to maintain credentialing files for physicians, advanced practitioners and
other clinical staff members, including maintaining licensure and other
credentials necessary for employment and continued medical practice with
MedSpring. Must research and understand State, Federal and payer-based
credentialing and qualification requirements while effectively coordinating and
interpretation, implementation, and ongoing management of credentialing and
corporate policies and procedures necessary to achieve and maintain delegated
credentialing status with external entities.
Intermediate knowledge of PCs, word processing and data entry.
Knowledge of credentialing individual providers with different insurance
companies from the practice/facility side is preferred.
Associate’s / Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
preferred. High school diploma required.
1+ years of recent healthcare contracting and credentialing
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to lift 15-25 lbs.
Required to move from one location to another within and outside of the building; push, pull and reach; bend.
Must be able to speak and write English fluently.
