Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Talented, patient-oriented physician assistant who enjoys delivering quality care and exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. In our urgent care setting, candidate will experience the full scope of urgent care cases, from acute illnesses to mild injuries. As an urgent care physician assistant candidate should be prepared and comfortable with procedures such as suturing, splinting and interpreting diagnostic studies including x-rays and EKGs. Candidate will also conduct school, sports and pre-employment physicals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Diagnose and treat an array of pediatric and adult illnesses and injuries
  • Order and interpret indicated diagnostic testing based upon evidence-based medicine (EBM) and clinical practice guidelines (CPG)
  • Utilize eClinicalWorks electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Attend and participate in periodic staff meetings
  • Become an active and energetic participant in this growing company
  • Perform required procedures, including suturing and splinting, abscess drainage

Job Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS: Active Texas medical license. DEA license. State controlled substances license. PA-C certification. DOT certification and BLS certification can be provided if needed.

COMPENSATION: $80,000/year + 5% bonus. As of December ‘14/January ’15 – production bonus of additional 2-8%. Optional additional shifts at $550/shift that are bonus eligible. Part-time Pas = M-F $45/hour; Sa-Su $55/hour.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of a residency program in family medicine, emergency medicine, internal medicine – pediatrics or another specialty.

EXPERIENCE: Emergency or urgent care experience preferred. Experience in procedures including suturing, splinting and abscess drainage. Diagnostic experience with x-rays and EKGs. Worker’s Compensation cases and DOT physical experience helpful.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift 15-30 lbs.
  • Required to move from one location to another within and outside of the building; push, pull and reach; bend; stand for long periods of time; and sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to speak and write English fluently.
