Maintenance Technician

Job Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on clinic buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems. Performs a variety of skilled duties in one or more of the building trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor electrical, or other recognized crafts for the purpose of maintaining and repairing the building.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine, repetitive daily inspection and maintenance necessary to building exterior/interior.
  • Performs preventative maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis.Inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, repairs or replaces broken parts.
  • Assists and performs with installation, maintenance, repair and construction work in the basic building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, carpet and mechanics.
  • Performs maintenance of electrical systems.(replaces light bulbs, cleans and repairs circuit breaker panels).
  • Maintains heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
  • Schedules fire alarm inspections (fire, protection) and schedules repairs when needed.
  • Performs manual repairs when necessary (fixes locks, replaces windows).
  • Schedules activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide.
  • Assists and performs functions in the construction, installation and maintenance of roofs, furniture, fences, cabinets, shelving, and a variety of other structures and items.
  • Prepares and paints walls and woodwork or performs other types of refinish, installs or repairs carpet, performs custodial duties as required.
  • Moves furniture and equipment when necessary.
  • Maintains company vehicles (vans).
  • Checks for excessive wire nests.
  • Maintains warehouse in clean and orderly conditions.
  • Inspects property on a daily basis and communicates with management regarding proper grounds keeping and general clean up and maintenance.Inspects outside of clinic areas and makes sure disposal areas are kept clean and in a safe condition.
  • Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required.
  • Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
  • Maintains accurate records of preventative maintenance schedules and SDS Sheets.
  • May perform weekly safety checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment for the patients and employees of the facility and to eliminate all hazards.Attends monthly safety meeting.

Education & Experience Requirement:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), Certificate or Associates Degree from a community college or technical school in Industrial Maintenance, or relevant field, 2-3 years related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License.

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings.
  • Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
  • Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. 

    Computer Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to sufficiently perform daily word processing tasks and work with data in spreadsheets.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibration. 
 

Current immunizations are required to work at Sunrise Community Health and may vary dependent upon the position. Influenza (Flu) and Tdap Vaccines are required for ALL staff.
