  • Prepares engineering management plans, monitors schedule execution, and integrates recommendations for corrective and remedial action.
  • Prepares status reports and provides technical guidance to junior engineers for development of engineering designs and documentation.

Qualification Requirements

  • A minimum of at least 4 years of experience in a mid-level technical position that requires exercising independent judgment and technical discretion when providing technical support in any combination of the following areas: system architecture, system/equipment design, system integration, technical management, and direct interface with customer management personnel for the solution of emergent engineering and technical problems; and total quality management review of systems (hardware and computer software engineering products) developed by more junior system engineers and hardware and software engineers.
  • Must have experience in evaluating and developing technical input into the systems engineering process, including typical products such as identification of customer/user needs and objectives; requirements definition, missions, measures of effectiveness, use environments, and constraints.
  • Must have experience in performing requirements analysis for systems missions and environments to identify functional definitions and designs for system hardware and software architecture. Must have experience in defining performance and design constraints, and developing and/or reviewing specifications, drawings and product descriptive data, and providing technical support to customer systems requirements analyses. Must have experience in participating in technical and management reviews.
  • Must have experience in defining and integrating functional architectures for system products and processes which are designed and implemented. Must have experience in performing functional analysis to lower the level of functions required to accomplish the parent system requirement.
  • Must have experience in defining and designing system products and process solutions in terms of design requirements that satisfy functional architecture and defining and integrating the system and physical (hardware and software) architecture. Must have experience in conducting interactive syntheses to define system elements for logical sets of functional and performance requirements; determining design completeness, refining physical communications interfaces, and defining system alternatives.
  • Must have experience providing progress measurement, assessment, and decision mechanisms required to evaluate design capabilities and document system design and decision data. This includes trade-off studies, effectiveness analyses, risk management, configuration management, data management, and performance-based progress management.
  • Must have experience in developing, maintaining, and performing quality assurance reviews of engineering data, such as specifications, equipment technical manuals, system level manuals, and engineering drawings.
  • Must have experience providing other support in related acquisition and engineering elements, including reliability/maintainability modeling and evaluation, safety engineering, human factors engineering, and quality assurance.
  • Must possess a minimum of a BA/BS in an engineering or computer science discipline or an AA/AS with technical certification in an engineering or computer science discipline such as Microsoft System Engineer or Novel Certified Network Engineer.
  • Must possess and exercise diplomatic tact and interface with the customer.
  • Must be proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office products and tools.
  • Travel (10%) may be required.
