Description:

Staff position providing technical accounting support in the Finance Department to meet financial and statistical reporting requirements.


Primary Functions:
  1. Responsible for the Import of bi-weekly payroll entries, monthly PTO liability and Payroll Accrual.
  2. Responsible for standard monthly journal entries to record payroll, operating, and investment accounts’ bank reconciliations.
  3. Back up Payroll Coordinator as needed.
  4. Responsible for journal entries and reconciliation of home care accounts receivable and affected revenue and/or expense accounts and the maintenance of detailed records to support the adjusting entries. This includes the printing of monthly statistical and accounts receivable reports on the Careficientsoftware. Responsible for the adjustment of other selected accounts and the maintenance of work papers and supporting documents to prove the carried balances for: estimation for bad debts; prepaid miscellaneous; prepaid dues.
  5. Responsible for input and reconciliation of the eTapestry donor/donation database and related entries to the General Ledger. This requires reconciliation of revenues and pledges receivable back to event-specific documentation, payroll withholding, and the General Ledger.
  6. Responsible for Account Analysis on assigned balance sheet general ledger accounts – this includes maintaining work-papers that tie to each account, analyzing the activity, recording accruals and reporting to Controller any concerns found in data analysis.
  7. Responsible for creating and maintaining spreadsheets to support activity in assigned expense accounts that ties to amortizations schedules or other supporting documentation.
  8. Responsible for procuring vendor certificates of insurance and issuing 1099’s.
  9. Follows established guidelines for use and/or disclosure of protected health information. Employees should report any breaches of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules to the Privacy Officer (Vice President of Patient Services) immediately. Failure to comply with HIPAA policies and procedures will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  10. Other duties as assigned


Compensation and Benefits:
Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $63,000 Annually depending on years of experience.
Incentives: Earn up to $500.00 quarterly based upon meeting productivity goals.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  2. Two to four years of accounting or general ledger experience.
  3. Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
  4. Detail oriented and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  5. Intermediate Excel skills and computerized accounting systems experience.
  6. Experience in health care desirable.

1. Ability to read and communicate verbally and in writing.
2. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer terminal.
3. Visual ability to review and work from written and printed materials.
4. Ability to sit for long periods.
5. Ability to deal effectively with stress.
