VNA Health Care is seeking a VP of Finance to manage the organizations financial operations, ensuring financial strategies align with business objectives and overseeing financial performance.
Position manages an established department of six. This position reports to the Vice President of Administrative Operations and has the potential to grow into a CFO role in the future. The VP of Finance serves as a member of the Senior Management Team.
The right candidate will possess strong accounting experience, with the ability to manage a department of employees. They will be self-motivated, highly organized and capable of ensuring accuracy in all reporting and disclosure. The candidate must possess an education or background in accounting, and must have a proven track record of maintaining a high level of performance across all aspects of their work environment.
1. Responsible for initial training, on-going development and evaluation of the work skills of the following job titles: Accounts Payable, Staff Accountants and Accounting Clerk, this includes the ability to perform these job duties as necessary. This function involves facilitating the timely flow of paperwork, ensuring the accuracy of data input by others in the department through reconciliation and follow-up procedures, and the achievement of stated deadlines for financial statement preparation and other required reporting.
2. Maintenance and update of the Chart of Accounts, monthly review of all balance sheet accounts, and timely and complete posting of all transactions.
3. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and preparation for the annual audit and tax returns.
4. Finance department filing system of accounting related records and reports including supporting documentation for grants and contracts, records retention procedures and off-site storage and destruction in accordance with organization policy.
5. Develop, improve and update the operating procedures of the finance department under the authority of the Vice-president of Finance.
6. Directs and coordinates funding applications.
7. Prepares annual budget and monthly and annual cost analyses, forecasts, and pro formas as needed.
8. Analyzes new payment structure implications for organization.
9. Works closely with the President and the administrative team to provide necessary financial information and analyses to operate effectively.
10. Secures financing as needed.
11. Provide monthly and annual reports to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
12. Member of Retirement Committee. Provides input regarding investment options. Oversees retirement contribution calculation.
1. CPA required, college degree with major in accounting or finance or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 5 or more years of supervisory experience.
3. Two or more years of experience in the health care industry preferred.
4. Computer literacy experience with PC-based and automated accounting systems and electronic spreadsheet knowledge.
5. Energetic, positively focused personality traits.
6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, customer service and problem solving skills required.
Compensation:
$160-$200K plus annual bonus up to 10% of salary
