Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

ASD is seeking a Senior Windows Network Engineer that is proficient with the Microsoft Windows platform to perform Network Engineer functions supporting the mission applications in a MS Windows Server 2016 and 2019 environment on the CAPE IMAG contract. The Network Engineer will perform ongoing system integration and secure operational support in all aspects of software and hardware of an organization’s network systems, make recommendations, implement, and maintain network architectures (LAN and WAN). In this role the candidate will also serve as the On-Site Lead for the ASD Team Members supporting the CAPE.

The ideal candidate must be proficient with MS Windows Server with a minimum of 7 years’ experience administering, securing, and maintaining servers, in-depth understanding of modern Microsoft Active Directory (AD) infrastructure, full understanding of Microsoft Windows 2016 and 2019 server implementation, experience in TCP/IP and VMware Virtualization technologies, and experience in DoD security practices. Responsibilities include the following tasks:

AWS cloud administration:

  • Creation and management of systems and storage
  • Work with DISA regarding network continuity between AWS and CAPE server and user systems.

User account management within Active Directory:

  • Create and provision domain user accounts on all networks.
  • De-provision and disable/delete user accounts on all networks.
  • Maintain enterprise distribution list memberships for CAPE.

VMware administration:

  • Creation and management of VM’s, maintain, update Vcenter server and ESXi hosts.
  • Management of presented SAN datastores.
  • Monitor resources of VMware functionality.
  • Research and propose upgrades to hardware and software supporting virtual infrastructure.

Windows administration on 3 networks, Unclassified, Classified and Development Classified.  

  • Technical liaison to DISA enterprise services relating to all server functions/issues to include but not limited to DNS, network, backups, firewalls, SAN storage, and user account issues.
  • Creation, and management of Windows server 2016, 2019 and 2022 within an Active Directory.
  • Maintain servers and updates/patches of servers.
  • Manage Group policy for Forest and Domains.
  • Research and propose upgrades to hardware and systems.
  • Maintain Exchange server on development network.
  • Manage security for windows servers to include STIG’s, using approved government tools.
  • Work with CAPE IT security team regarding ATO and all documentation and implementation of security to windows servers.
  • Provide technical support/information regarding COTS and GOTS software as well as CAPE proprietary tools used by CAPE users, including identifying new software and upgrading/updating as needed.
  • Support RDS (Remote Desktop Services) internal solution including licensing, user access management, and software installed on remote desktop servers.

Required Skills:
  • Education/Experience – B.S. in Information Technology or related field. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience administration of networks and Windows servers and cloud or virtual IT infrastructure. Minimum of four (4) years of experience working in a MS Server Windows 2016/2019 environment. Must be able to demonstrate successful experience with troubleshooting and resolving mission applications installed in a MS Windows server environment and diagnosing end-user software and hardware issues.
  • Skills/Certifications/Training – Security+ CE required; MCP or MCSE preferred.
