TODDLER TEACHER ASSISTANT

  • You have great communication skills.
  • You are able to develop relationships with teachers, children and parents.
  • You’re patient and are able to work with children of different abilities and backgrounds.
  • You are resourceful and are able to assist those with different learning styles.
A Day in the Life
  • As Teacher Assistant you’ll work with the classroom teachers to develop the learning environment, assisting in classroom activities.
  • You’ll help set up classroom materials; keep the classroom clean and safe; read to children; organize and supervise play activities and soothe children who are upset.
  • You will follow the lead of the classroom staff to reinforce appropriate behaviors using positive guidance.
  • You’ll assist in family-style meals, snack, diapering/toileting, rest and teachers’ breaks.
Qualifications
  • Preferred experience working with children ages birth - 5 years old.
  • If you have a high school diploma or GED, you’ll need to earn your CDA credential or state-awarded certificate during your first two years with us. We’ll pay for it and help you do it.
  • You must have a strong commitment to BI-CAP’s values of collaboration, innovation and compassion for those we serve.
  • Applicants must pass a DHS Background Study and meet DHS & MN Rule 3 licensing requirements.
Wages
  • You’ll be eligible for a competitive benefits package and the opportunity to make a difference in the community. 
  • Full time, 40 hours/week. No CDA: $17.12 - $23.96/hr; With CDA: $18.30 - $25.63/hr. depending on qualifications, with benefits during the school year: medical, dental, vision, life/add, retirement plan, holiday pay and paid time off. Retention bonuses available.
  • Schedule: M-Th, 9 hrs/day; Fri, 4 hrs/day.
